Biography Annie Hémond-Hotte uses a raw approach and primitive use of color to investigate themes of everyday relationships and the development of new communication architectures. Her paintings depict figurative characters: abstract beings that evolve together and communicate with projections of one another. The artist creates an adapted mythology allowing the viewer to experience a dialogue between varieties of archetypes within the structure of an exhibition. Annie Hémond-Hotte was born in Montreal in 1980. Since graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University in 2004, Hémond Hotte has exhibited in multiple solo and group exhibitions in Montreal. She works with low-tech visual language and materials, creating simultaneously in the mediums of drawing and painting. Her pieces are included in various corporate and private collections in the province of Québec. She currently lives and works in London, UK while completing her MFA at Goldsmiths, University of London.
